Sorry. Late post. Crazy day, but awesome bit: I can finally use this new tablet I bought. 😊 I've been fiddling with it for about a week now, but nothing serious until today. For whatever reason it was giving me trouble with connecting to the internet. But it's connected now and I can use it for NaNoWriMo now.
I'm actually using it right now to at least start this post. We'll see if I use it the whole way through or not.
Well, my project. Crazy me got an idea towards the end of the first week, but the full idea was reliant on a character's costume. And was it a main character who appears in the meager handful of clips I found on Youtube? No! It was a minor character who doesn't appear in any of the clips I have. So, I drive over to the library to borrow the needed DVD. This why I prefer to own the source material or at least be able to find the vast majority in clip form on Youtube. Thankfully, I found out what I needed and the idea was a go. ☺
Then last weekend was insane. My time between two shifts was drastically shortened, thus giving me far less writing time. (What was I thinking when I agreed to that? I was being kind and trying to help out. I pray never again.)
This weekend was crazy too for other reasons, but I wanted to offer you guys a little something.
Okay. Progress report. I am roughly halfway through the episode. About Chapter 10 (plus Prologue) with a current final word count at 35,852. Phew. Those remaining words feel so daunting and yet so attainable.
And reasoning behind the title. Anyone familiar with the Sherlock series may recognize it. Those unfamiliar, there is a scene roughly in the middle (I just finished this scene) where Sherlock tells John that he saw the terrifying hound. And as a way to “deal” with his first brush with fear, Sherlock turns mocking and provides a rapid fire deduction of two diners within the same room. In the midst of this, he says, “Cherchez le chien.” It is French for “Find the dog.” If you would like, you can view the clip here: Sherlock Deduces in the Pub. As a disclaimer, I do not approve of some of the language Sherlock and John uses in the series.
Well, hoping to buckle down Sunday afternoon and Monday to pound out another few thousand words. In the homestretch of the month. Here we go!
(Apologies for no real pictures at this time. Maybe I'll update with pictures later.)
